About This Place

Nami Modern Korean Steakhouse, nestled in the heart of Louisville, KY, offers a compelling fusion of traditional Korean flavors elevated through a modern steakhouse experience. This upscale yet warmly inviting restaurant is a must-visit for enthusiasts of Korean cuisine and premium grilled meats alike. The ambiance strikes a delicate balance—classy but relaxed—making it perfect for both special occasions and casual dinners.

The menu is a vibrant celebration of Korean steakhouse classics, masterfully prepared with high-quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. Among the standout dishes, the Kalbi (Beef Short Ribs) steals the spotlight with its thin slices of marinated beef short ribs infused with a ginger garlic soy marinade, delivering a savory depth that melts on the tongue. Equally impressive is the DeungShim (Beef Ribeye), a gluten-free option where thick cuts of ribeye steak are simply seasoned with salt, pepper, and sesame oil, allowing the natural richness of the beef to shine.

For those seeking bold, spicy notes, the GalmaeGisal (Beef Skirt Steak) offers a thrilling kick, marinated in a spicy gochujang sauce. Complementing the mains are thoughtful sides and shareable dishes such as the fresh and crunchy Romaine Heart Salad — with its nutty sesame peanut dressing, roasted peanuts, and Korean pear adding crisp sweetness — and the Beef Tartare, a luxurious appetizer combining tenderloin with pine nuts and a harmoniously balanced soy-sesame sauce.

In addition to main courses, diners can enhance their meals with a variety of carefully curated add-ons. The ever-popular bowls of rice and flavorful banchan sets bring authentic Korean touches, with options like kimchi served both as a side and in jarred form to take home. For those who love an extra layer of taste complexity, sauces such as spicy ssamjang, gochujang butter, and chili crisp elevate every bite, ensuring that each mouthful bursts with bold, layered flavors.

Feedback from patrons consistently praises the impeccable service, highlighting attentive and knowledgeable staff who make the meal feel personalized and comfortable. The presence of a skilled bartender like Juan, who crafts superb cocktails, adds an extra dimension to the dining experience. Many guests have expressed delight in diverse dishes such as shrimp dumplings, bulgogi Benedict, and the bulgogi-inspired steak and eggs.

While most reviews applaud the food and atmosphere, some dishes like the jajangmyun have drawn mixed opinions, noted for being less flavorful than expected. Nonetheless, this minor critique does not overshadow the overall excellence found throughout the diverse menu. Moreover, those who appreciate variety in spice levels may desire a few milder banchan options, but the authentic heat remains a highlight for adventurous palates.

If you’re craving a sophisticated yet approachable introduction to modern Korean cuisine fused with the joy of grilling premium steaks, Nami Modern Korean Steakhouse is a dining destination that stands out for its bold flavors, refined techniques, and warm hospitality — a true gem in Louisville’s vibrant restaurant scene.

Bar service was amazing.Juan (the bartender) drinks were amazing and was over all phenomenal. All the food was delicious EXCEPT the jajangmyun. The shrimp dumplings, tuna tartar, steak and eggs and bulgogi Benedict, ALLL delicious!! The jajangmyun was not flavored correctly, it tasted like little to nothing. The cucumber garnishes within the meal had more flavor than the dish itself. But overall really good place, nice vibes.

We had the most amazing meal! We got the crab croquettes, skirt steak, sam gyup and the eggplant main dish. All were so delicious and prepared perfectly. We did end with the ice cream sandwich not expecting much but that was surprisingly tasty! Service was EXCELLENT! Our server Marquelle, was so attentive and had really good recommendations! We came all the way from Vancouver Canada and will not hesitate to come back to Louisville just to try more dishes!

Classy and upscale, but not uptight. You'll probably need reservations on the weekend. The shrimp dumpling wrappers were a little soft. I usually wouldn't complain but for the price they should have been perfect. Taste was delicious and the BBQ was spot on. The banchan was all pretty spicy and I wish they had some less spicy options.

Brunch bacon was perfect and the fried purple sweet potato was a hit. Duck confit spring rolls were interesting. Feedback: Needs window shades! The afternoon sun comes in super bright with their high windows, making all of their four-tops uncomfortable . There was a dirty table next to us for 40 minutes while the host folded napkins at the bar, until he finally got to it. The bacon in the bacon bibimbap is hard to deal with: too big for fork, spoon, or chopsticks, and no knife was provided.

I saw some reviews mentioning that the waitstaff were rude, but my experience was actually very positive. Our waitress was polite and friendly. The service was definitely 10/10. The banchan was fairly typical for a Korean restaurant. We received four small side dishes, which were just okay. I was expecting crunchy kimchi, but it was a bit too watery. The salad was actually the best part of the set. The ribeye was flavorful, though slightly overcooked. It came out almost well done, and no one asked how I’d like it prepared. I’m guessing well done is their default. I know the owner is Korean, but in my opinion, this place doesn’t quite feel like a Korean steakhouse. It’s more like an American steakhouse with few Korean-inspired flavors. To be honest, I had high expectations because of the Netflix show. It was good, but not amazing. I’d give it a solid 7 out of 10.

Our experience at Nami's Steakhouse was nothing short of perfection. The only hiccup was the seating options. We were stein very tight quarters for two. The enter into the seating the table would have had to be completely pulled out and the table was set with plates and utensils. We chose to be seated in the bar area but seating was akward and uncomfortable. The booth was far below the height of the table. The table met at our shoulders. The staff was accommodating and did not seem put out or annoyed. opted to sit at the bar and were so happy we did. Amanda and the staff were engaging, respectful of out privacy, informative, and just a perfect addition to the experience. The food was sublime. We had the crispy dumplings and the tuna hand roll for appetizers. Perfectly portioned and layers of flavor. We ordered a rice bowl and the spicy skirt steak for our main course. the rice bowl was sublime and each bit had complexity and lasting savor. The skirt steak was perfectly portioned and came with several sides that truly punctuated the dish with surprising notes- the daikon said offered cool crispness, the red kimchee- spicy crispness, the peanuts were a great enhancement to the beef or fantastic on their own. We recommend eating the salad last. The wasabi margarita was complex and interesting-- I think fresh lime juice would be a better option for this cocktail. And the saki martini was perfection-- The environment was cozy and modern. We loved it! We will be back!

This was our 1st time at this establishment and we loved it. Sara the bar manager was Absolutely Amazing she recommended some amazing starters. We had the Ginger soy salmon and crab rice, it was great cooked perfectly. Gogi Bibimbap was excellent with the added egg. We had a hiccup with Strip steak being undercooked but they rectified the issue and it was amazing. We would definitely recommend and return.

This place food is great! My daughter wanted to come here and we did enjoy it! Service and staff were friendly and even let us use the private karaoke room to celebrate my daughter's birthday! If your looking for authentic. Look no further! Parking can be tricky so come early! If you have reservations.
